Dear Friends,

It's been a while since I sent out a newsletter.

Covid changed everything, and now the world is so upside down it may feel as though whatever we do may not matter much anymore. Yet these are the most important times to contribute and share empathy, creativity, a call for global peace and especially a cease fire.

So, I would like to share some meaningful projects I have had the chance to be a part of. I hope this will result in seeing you at some of the events and reconnecting. It would mean so much!

Streaming from March 5 on HBOMAX

A Revolution on Canvas is a multiple award-winning HBO political documentary I composed the score for. It premiered at The Tribeca Film Festival with overwhelming response and is now streaming on HBOMAX.

It was a great pleasure to collaborate with the passionate and super smart directors' producers Sara Nodjoumi and Till Schauder on their fantastic thriller doc. AROC is a deeply engaging journey revisiting the life and art of Nicky Nodjoumi, one of the great living artists of our time. DON'T MISS IT!

March 19 Televised Concert

I will be performing at the Iran International televised celebration of Nowruz 2024 on March 19. The show will air live from 05:30 Tehran time (18:00 PST 21:00 EST) for 2 hours.

Friends in London

I will be showing a few of my images from my exhibition "Dawn of the Cold Season ” at Photo London 2024 at Roya Khadjavi Projects/Nemazee Fine art.

The series of photographs captures frozen moments from Deyhim's live performance piece The House is Black Media Stage Project. The project was last presented at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and Royce Hall, Los Angeles. Through non-linear poetic tableaux, Deyhim performatively interprets eroticism, existentialism and awe-inspiring rawness that define the literary works of Farrokhzad.

One of the most special projects I've been involved with is "Once Within A Time," a film by the visionary director Godfrey Reggio. (Koyaanisqatsi) With the score composed by Philip Glass and additional music composed by myself.

Exec-produced by Steven Soderbergh and Alexander Rodnyansky, co-directed and edited by Jon Kane. Costumes by Machine Dazzle. Produced by Mara Campione, production design by Scott Pask, visual effects by Grier Dill and director of photography Trish Govoni.

A privilege to have shared this experience with these legends and their handpicked geniuses.

• The sound track album for Godfrey Reggio's Once Within A Time, in collaboration with Philip Glass, musical director and producer Michael Riesman, and mastered by Alex Grey. It has been such a special gift to be invited to create this ritualistic vocal soundscape for the profound and innovative visual universe of OWAT! More info on the release date soon.
  
• The Invisible Road: Original Recordings, 1985–1990 explores unheard music from Sussan Deyhim and Richard Horowitz's prolific collaboration between 1985 and 1990. Sourced from the original reels, remixed, and mastered, The Invisible Road documents Deyhim and Horowitz's time in the downtown NYC music where they embraced the spirit of experimentation and pushed the limits of sound making and performance. Sussan Deyhim and Richard Horowitz The Invisible Road will be released in vinyl, CD, and digital formats by RVNG Intl. and Freedom To Spend in 2024.
  
• We are finalizing some international bookings for a solo concert of my film music and compositions " Whispers from the Underworld”.
  
  It will include my scores for multiple films, videos and stage productions including the compositions for Once Within A Time, music from multiple video works by Shirin Neshat and the soundtrack for my stage production The House is Black Media Project, last seen at Royce Hall and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
