Associazione Duca degli Abruzzi
The association was founded on the initiative of Luigi Sanseverino. He involved his friends to create a non-profit organization to help children residing in remote and disadvantaged areas in developing countries to improve their access to education. Having to decide between the countless regions where these conditions persist, action was taken in areas explored by HRH Luigi di Savoia, Duke of Abruzzi, whose name the association is entitled.

First, schools were built in Somalia, then their efforts moved into Pakistan. In the very remote region of Sino in Baltistan, Pakistan, two small schools were provided with adequate schoolrooms and books.

A multimedia library is now in its final stages of development in Shigar. It was built with the help of many friends that offered professional and financial assistance.

All funds have been used solely for the projects. With resourcefulness and very little funding, we have been able to go very far.

In the future, we intend to develop an online cultural network for children. This will be a low cost tool, accessible to all regardless of socioeconomic status. On this network, children will learn about other cultures, art, music, and new ways of expressing themselves.
